[As for where to eat, I figure instead of meeting someplace else to eat, one central place is probably better, especially with the Orlando traffic. We can figure out the place though at the end of next week.]

We could have a part 2 either August 1st or August 2 and if you weren't able to meet up this Saturday, we could always meet up in Orlando (I would say Kennedy Space Center but after all this and then trying to figure out where to actually meet before hand, when everything is 30 minutes away from there just doesn't seem GQ).
If you guys like this idea, let me know and I will make the final detailed post.
So first I will tell you the situation with Kennedy Space Center. I called them twice, because the first phone call I didn't think the guy understood me and to be honest was kind of rude, so I was mad after that phone call. The second phone call was much nicer (he actually checked, not just say no). Basically, all the cafe and the gift shop close at 7. If we wanted to meet up and eat or shop, we would have to pay for a full day admissions to get to them. I assumed we would at least be able to eat or shop without having to do this, so my fault, I should never assume anything. So, after that second phone call I started brain storming and trying to figure out what an alternative meet up would be.
I really need your opinions on what we want to go with here bbs.
Here are our alternative options:
OPTION 1
Kennedy Space Center Meet Up
Meet between 4 and 4:30 at either Cocoa or Merritt Beach (If we meet at Cocoa I would try and find a local restaurant. Merritt Beach has a mall that sounds nice enough that would be able to meet at.)
Both places are about 30 minutes away from KSC so we would need to leave by 6 or 6:15 to make the 7 movie.
I had move the meet up time up because were gonna need more time to get to the KSC. Sort of sucks that any place to meet up is 30 minutes in every direction.
OPTION 2
Orlando Meet Up Again
Meet up between 4:30 and 5 at the Pointe Orlando (the same place, just figured we could eat there this time, and no worries about caravaning over.)
As of Thursday, the movie time would be at 7:20.
I also heard there is a GQMF store (American Apparel). If this was the option picked, we could meet up there, eat in that area and then again, caravan over. Just an idea to make things fun.

Another nice part about the IMAX at Mosi, is it is the dome style IMAX. If you haven't seen a movie like this, it is so much better then the IMAX you find at a local theater. We also have a very awesome GQMF who works here and might be able to get us discounted tickets!

For directions, use the city "Orsino," and the state "FL." Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is located just to the west on 405, between Range Road and East Avenue SW.

As for carpooling, I suggest everyone start planning that now. I don't know if they charge for parking, but if any one might know about this, let me know :) And as for food, the description of the place says it offers something for everybody.

Thanks for helping pick the date bbs! Even though the poll was tied, I went through the comments and it was pretty clear that a July date would be the best. So we'll have one more poll to figure out if the Saturday or Sunday would be better. I would like the Sunday date only so I can stay later (and won't have to bounce out early like Papa Kirk again, haha).

As for the location, I really like the idea of still going to the Kennedy Space Center. Orlando was a lot of fun, but I don't know if the movie will still be playing there at the end of the month. And I think it is a good idea to change up the location every now and again. With that said, I managed to pull together some information for you all!The Visitor Center is open from 9 am to 7 pm (so if you have to drive a distance and don't want to worry about traffic, you can always get there early and enjoy look around the center. Not to mention, Cocoa Beach is about a 40 minute drive from there, so the beach is always an option too!)
Admission to the Visitor Center is $38 for adults (more information about what is included with the ticket)
There are only two show times for the movie. 4:30 and 7. You don't have to pay the $38 admissions to see the movie, tickets for only the film are $7.50.
As for where to eat, they have a few places in the visitor center that we can choose from, so now worries about trying to find a place, it's all in the same place. (more information here)

I know lots of choices! But I figure we have plenty of time. Probably end up doing a post every weekend leading up to the date we pick.
As for location, probably end up doing Orlando again. Don't know if the movie will still be playing there though, but as previously noted, the Kennedy Space Center will be playing the movie till September. So, have picks ladies! I know these sometime get cancelled because of weather or technical problems, but even if that happened, I was told the movie is playing at there IMAX till September! So we can still have a viewing party of the movie and if the weather is nice, beach sounds good to me, along with other GQ fun times!

I know some of you are traveling from pretty far, so please let me know if one time works better then the other.As for a place to eat, there are places to choose from at the Pointe Orlando or we can choose a place on that is on International Drive. Cool thing, is that Wonder Works is next store to the Pointe (they have laser tag O_O) so if any one is interested in going there at all check out the website. I figure we can kinda play the rest of the evening by ear.

Parking: $12 in the Garage and I think it said $17 for valet (sorry bbs, Universal fails at this one) so car pooling might be a sweet idea and then parking can be split.
Between 4:30 and 5 meet outside the cineplex. I will check movie times the day before so we can have a vote on Friday about what showing we want to go to (as of right now, it is still playing). So check back here Friday afternoon and I should have a new post up.
Depending on what showtime we pick is gonna help us decide when we eat (before or after). Any way I made a list of the restaurants, you guys decide :) But I wanted to through this idea out there, while browsing the CityWalk website I found this Dinner & a Movie deal that they offer. Basically it's $21.95 which includes your ticket and dinner 1 of 8 places (the menu is limited to each place thought. But if you click on the link I posted you can see what meals you can pick from at each place and maybe that will help with deciding where to eat.

I live over on the West coast near St. Petersburg so if you need a ride or would like to just kinda save money on gas or parking and you live between St. Pete and Orlando, I can pick you up. I will probably do a couple more posts before then to give out more details of what will be going down, but as of right now, it is probably going to take place sometime after 4:30. (Only because I know I won't get out of work till 2. If anyone else has to works that day, let me know and we will work out the meet up time more before then.)
Probably will only be a dinner and a movie kind of thing. So I am going to need some help from the Otown peeps to let me know where a good theater is and any good restaurants. If you guys have any preferences shout them out! While I was at work this afternoon I Googled a few places, but again once the dates gets closer, I'll have a better idea of what theaters are still playing Star Trek.

Orlando is probably a good one to start it off. I know one person had mentioned they live in Melbourne (had to Google that to find exactly where it is) and it's only under an hour from Cape Canaveral which might be fun to go see a shuttle launch (don't know when they schedule those). But that is something to figure out maybe after we plan a first meet up. If we get a big enough group we could try and do a theme park or MEDIEVAL TIMES (haha sorry but that place is the shit and I know a few people who would definitely come if it was there) and get like a group rate. Idk, I'm thinking big right now.
